On July 5, a ceremony was held for the completion and delivery of 400 affordable housing projects undertaken by China Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group (CMCEG) in Taher, Algeria. Mr. Abdelkader Kelkel, Governor of JIJEL, Algeria, attended the event and gave a congratulatory speech, extending his gratitude to all the staff for their hard work and efforts to present such a special gift on Algerian National Day which falls on July 5.
Since the onset of the project, all team members strove to allocate the resources in a reasonable way and defeated all kinds of difficulties in terms of personnel, materials, environment, finance etc. In particular, amid COVID-19 outbreak, the Project Department, under the premise of safety assurance, took multiple actions to speed up progression, smoothly delivered the housing, and satisfactorily completed the home-entry acceptance of the first batch of households.
The project which is the first construction general contract project out of AADL owners’ 8 housing projects undertaken by CMCEG to complete the delivery consists of housing types F3 and F4, 200 sets for each, with building types of R+9 and R+5. Categorized as a regional social affordable housing project, it covers an area of 11,100 square meters and a living area of 31,000 square meters. The whole project includes 13 6-floor buildings and 3 10-floor buildings which are of strip foundation for RDC+5 and mat foundation for RDC+9 with a construction contract period of 24 months.
